Youth Director

What impact do you hope to have on the lives of youth?

I want them to know that I genuinely care about them as a person. To help them discover their strengths. The greatest impact would be to have them feel like they can talk to me and that I would listen.

Which cartoon character do you resemble the most?

Curious George when he rides his bike ; )

What impact do you hope to have on the lives of youth?

I hope to impact the youth by loving Jesus so much that they want to love Him too.

What famous person do other people tell you that you most resemble?

I have been told that I look like Julia Roberts. I think it’s because I have brown hair and I’m tall. I can’t see much else in common. Maybe it’s because my husband looks like Richard Gere.

What impact do you hope to have on the lives of youth?

The impact I'd most like to have is to partner with families to raise life-long followers of Jesus... that was easy!

What famous person do other people tell you that you most resemble?

The first famous person look-alike was that a guy told me I looked just like Richard Gere... the guy was trying to sell me a shed (he was obviously trying to flatter me as a sales technique. We did end up buying the shed). Perhaps a more genuine instance was a kid at a youth conference told me I look like the bald guy on Lost! (Character - John Locke; Actor - Terry O'quinn). The kid actually had his picture taken with me.

What impact do you hope to have on the lives of youth?

Hmm? The kids honestly impact me more than I think I do them. But, in the end, I don't mind if 10 years from now these kids don't remember me or my name, I just want them to be able to look back on their Jr/Sr. high years & feel like they came to know Jesus by being well liked, listened to, respected & loved by a bunch of silly, fun-lovin people who shared their relationship with God in a fun & unintimidating way.

Name the most terrifying moment of your life so far.

Although I don't remember it, birth was probably the most terrifying moment of my life so far. I mean ya spend all this time in a nice warm, happy place, sleeping, kicking at things, floating like an astronaut in space, getting fed etc. then next thing you know your being pushed out into the world, it's cold, there's bright lights, you're naked, dirty & all these people are looking at you! The experience inevitably makes you cry so they wisk you off clean you up, pop on a beanie & a blanket & you realize you have no words to express what you're thinking. If that doesn't give you a fright I don't know what would.

What impact do you hope to have on the lives of youth?

Hopefully that I don't crush them when playing ultimate frisbee.

If you joined the circus, what act would you most want to perform?

Flying trapeze or lion tamer or elephant trainer. I'm already a clown.

What impact do you hope to have on the lives of youth?

To point them to Jesus and hopefully for them to see Him through me. I strive to love kids the way Jesus loves me.

Name the most terrifying moment of your life so far.

Even though many of you know I was on the bay bridge during the '09 earthquake, I was knee-buckling scared when a tram I was on stopped suddenly mid-way across the Royal Gorge, leaving us dangling over what is like a mini Grand Canyon. We were there, probably about 20 of us, for a few minutes before the problem was solved and the tram jerked and started again to finish the crossing.
